I want to share some divrei chizuk before Shabbos.
We are in Tzfat for Shabbos and I am bringing a group of boys around the kevarim in the area. We just left Meron and are on our way to Rabbi Akiva and the Rambam. At the kever of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai at Meron I spoke and I wanted to share what I said because I was inspired to say it because of the Nefesh Hachaim shiurim in our Shul.
I don’t pretend to know much about the holy Zohar but the small parts we have been seeing together in the shiur are so critical for us to always remember. The Zohar speaks of how every time a Jew says any word of Torah HaShem is so to speak full of joy. The angels take every word and form a crown for HaShem. Obviously these words of Rabb Shimon in the Zohar are way beyond our comprehension. Nevertheless it gives us a glimpse into how important our learning is in HaShem’s eyes.
We must constantly remind ourselves and instill in our children this message.
It is beyond miraculous that we are still learning the same Torah that was learned by Rabbi Akiva, Rabbi Shimon, the Rambam and countless others throughout our history. Hashem values every word of every one of us no less than the words of our holy Tannaim of old. Baruch HaShem, whether in Eretz Yisrael or America or throughout the world, the words of Torah continue to adorn the crown of the King of Kings.
Specifically at this time when HaShem and His nation are mourning the Churban let us bring more joy in Heaven and on earth through the great simcha of Talmud Torah.
Wishing everyone a good Shabbos.
