What changes are being made for this coming year?
We are addressing a few issues and concerns that were made known to the board.
We will have an additional Rosh Hashanah minyan in a tent. The minyan will include all Tefilos except for Mincha/Maariv in the evening.
We will be offering babysitting for children in nursery through fifth grade for boys & girls in the youth house.
We will have a shofar blowing in the Youth House for the youth during davening on Rosh Hashanah approximately 11:15am. This will help alleviate crowding & reduce the noise level for people in shul during davening. As in the past, there will also be a shofar blowing after Mussaf.
How do I sign up for either minyan?
When you purchase your Yomim Noraim seats, indicate your preference for minyan location in the comment field.
Will there be an additional minyan for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur?
Yes. The additional minyanim will be located in a tent in the shul backyard which will include all the Tefilos, except for Mincha/Maariv on Rosh Hashanah nights. The tents will have cooling fans to help manage the temperature if necessary. Both minyanim will begin at the same time. The Yom Kippur minyan from last year will continue, and will be located in the tent as well.
Will there be groups or babysitting for children?
The shul will not host groups, but we are able to offer babysitting this year in the Youth House for Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur. The Youth Committee worked with teachers with experience in other local shul babysitting programs to identify high school students to babysit. The cost for babysitting per child, per day, is $25. Babysitting registration and payment is required when signing up for your seats. Snacks will be provided over Rosh Hashanah & lunch over Yom Kippur.
Are sponsorships available for this new shul opportunity?
Yes. This is a tremendous financial undertaking and another big step in the growth of our shul. In an effort to defray the shul’s costs, we are seeking sponsorships for the tent. If you are interested in sponsoring, please contact Josh Rozenberg Joshua.firstname.lastname@example.org.
Who will be leading the tent minyan?
The intention is to have a minyan in the tent that provides a davening experience similar to that of the main minyan in the shul. Rabbi Dr. Alex Mondrow will lead the tent minyanim throughout the Chagim as he led the Yom Kippur additional minyan last year.
